The US accused Patanjali Products

Now ‘Patanjali Ayurveda’ is seen in the US legal battle screws. The US can ban Patanjali two of honey products in the US. The US food ministry planning to file a complaint against Patanjali company.

The US can charge a fine of 3000 million(5 lacs USD) on conviction if Patanjali is guilty.


According to the United State Food and drug administration(USFDA), different claims have been made on the Patanjali Ayurveda’s two Honey products.

Accused of selling product with wrong claims

The USFDA has said in its report that the company is using a separate label packaging in India, while in the US, it is using a different label of the packaging. And the company uses two different labels and packaging in both countries.

If this claim is true, then the US can file a lawsuit against Patanjali and impose an amount of US $ 5 million. And the employees of the company can be jailed for 3 years.


Similarly in India, selling a different product with separate branding might lead to another investigation and a fine charge up to 3,00,000 Rupees, as per the act of 2006 Food Safety and Standard(FSS).

Dispute on Patanjali Honey Products

This is not the first time when it has happened. This happened many times when Patanjali was surrounded by such disputes.

For the first time, ‘Wheat noodles’ were accused of not receiving approval from (Fssai). Patanjali Colgate has been questioned on the use of Ayurveda.

The impact of this kind of controversy, seen on Patanjali’s earnings, was Rs 8,135 crore, which was 10% lower than last year.


According to a financial report, Patanjali’s net profit was 529 crore in 2017-2018, which was half of the previous year. While the company has earned 9035 crores in 2018-2019.

Conclusion

These facts proved that the price of the Patanjali brand is decreasing. People are losing interest in Patanjali products.

If the US accused Patanjali and ban its honey products, it will have a major impact on Patanjali and its impact can be seen in India also.
