Why would a Brazilian billionaire want to bury his million-dollar Bentley?

Brazilian billionaire want to bury his million-dollar Bentley

One of the richest and most powerful men in Brazil, Thane Chiquinho Scarpa, made waves when he announced plans to bury his million-dollar Bentley so he could drive around the afterlife in style.

He received lots of media attention and was criticized for the extravagant gesture. Why would anyone want to do something so bizarre? People said he was weird and had lost his marbles! Why wouldn’t he donate the car to charity? How out of touch with reality is this guy? He ignored what the world said about him and went ahead with the ceremony.

On 20th Sept. 2013, moments before lowering the car in the ground, he revealed his genuine motive: To create awareness for organ donation.

“People condemn me because I wanted to bury a million-dollar Bentley, in fact, most people bury something a lot more valuable than my car,” Scarpa said during a speech at the ceremony. “They bury hearts, livers, lungs, eyes, kidneys. This is absurd. So many people waiting for a transplant and you will bury your healthy organs that will save so many lives.”

On the flip-side of this noble gesture, there is something terribly shocking that is going on in China. Under the communist party’s authoritarian rule, China has become a major center for an illegal organ transplantation business. It is now the one place in the world where a person can get a heart and lung transplant in less than a week’s time. But where do the organs come from when China has no volunteer organ donation system? These organs are harvested by killing, and the victims are mostly practitioners of Falun Gong, a persecuted spiritual movement whose goals include better health. Apart from Falun Gong practitioners, organs are also harvested from other religious minorities like Uyghur Muslims, and Tibetan Buddhists.

One Chinese website boasted that it could provide matching organs in 1-4 weeks, time-frame medical experts say it is impossible unless the Chinese hospitals had access to a huge stock of living organ “donors.” It has been reported that over 10,000 organs are transplanted in China every year, yet there are only a tiny number of people on the official donor register. It’s become a destination for people wanting to avoid waiting lists and get a quick transplant. The industry is said to be worth a billion dollars.

Independent investigative researches have concluded that “live organ harvesting” is organized mass murder of innocent people practicing Falun Gong, a spiritual faith with exercise and meditation.

Falun Dafa India, like its counterparts in 114 countries all over the world, spreads the health benefits of the practice on a voluntary basis and creates awareness of the 20-year persecution and unlawful killings of innocent people engaged in the peaceful practice, hoping that it soon comes to an end.
